Excellent Read!
This second book in the Matt Riley series won’t disappoint. It’s a fast read with lots of action and plot twists and has a timely subject, the opiod crisis in the US. I especially liked the contrast between the sleepy town of Franklin, Pennsylvania, and the border towns in Mexico. As a bonus, the author provides an interesting historical background of Franklin to frame the story. Definitely worth reading.

A Timely Page Turner
I thoroughly enjoyed Ace of Diamonds and recently finished the 2nd book in the series, Echoes of Malice. The continuing adventures of Matt Riley and Franklin, PA was an interesting and timely story of murder, retribution, the Mexican drug cartel, addiction recovery, Family dynamics and why not a love story, too! A great beach read that now my book club friends in La Jolla are enjoying. I highly recommend Echoes of Malice AND Ace of Diamonds! I just reordered both books since I had passed them on this summer and now must share with another Austin book club. Both are worthy reads!

While weaving a compelling narrative, this book addresses an extremely important and complicated topic in a realistic and researched manner. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to better understand the forces behind the opiod crisis while also enjoying a compelling crime drama.

This book has everything; Entertaining, suspense, pace, chapter structure, believability. I couldn’t put the book down. Read it in two sessions.
